Build Android Social Networking App

I want to bring a new social‐networking idea to life on Android. The project starts with a clean slate, so you will be responsible for transforming my concept into a fully functioning app—from setting up the project structure through to a polished release build ready for Google Play.

Core expectations
• Design and develop the entire Android application in Kotlin or Java, following modern Material 3 guidelines.
• Implement the essential social features we will finalise together (user sign-up/login, profile pages, posting, commenting, liking, real-time updates, and push notifications).
• Connect the app to a secure, scalable backend of your choice (Firebase, AWS Amplify, custom REST, etc.) and document the API endpoints clearly for future maintenance.
• Ensure smooth performance on current Android versions, with responsive layouts across common screen sizes.
• Provide unit/instrumentation tests and assist with Play Store submission.

Deliverables
1. Complete, well-commented source code in a private Git repository.
2. A signed release APK/AAB ready for store upload.
3. Brief technical documentation covering setup, build steps, and backend configuration.

Acceptance criteria
• All agreed-upon social features are usable end to end without crashes.
• No critical issues flagged by Google Play pre-launch reports.
• Code passes the included test suite and lint checks.
