Bright Realistic Fantasy Illustrations

I’m putting together a children’s picture book and need a collection of full-colour illustrations that balance believable, realistic rendering with a bright, cheerful atmosphere. Each spread centres on friendly fantasy creatures—dragons, mer-folk, cloud-hopping unicorns and the like—so no human or ordinary animal characters are involved.
You’ll take my page-by-page briefs and turn them into polished artwork ready for both print and digital editions. Procreate, Adobe Photoshop or similar digital-painting tools are perfect, provided the final files are layered and delivered in both RGB and CMYK at 300 dpi so colours stay lively on press. Consistent palettes, character continuity and expressive backgrounds are key.
Deliverables
• Cover illustration plus the interior spreads we confirm at kickoff
• Separate character turnarounds or pose sheets for future merchandising
• Print-ready PDFs and the fully layered source files
Acceptance criteria
• Realistic art style that still feels light, bright and child-friendly
• Fantasy creatures are always the main focus
• Colours remain vibrant after CMYK conversion, with correct bleed margins
When you reply, let me know your typical workflow, show at least one sample of a realistic fantasy creature you’ve illustrated, and outline your average turnaround time per spread. I’m happy to answer any story-specific questions once we get started.
