BUDGET: A$100-150 AUD PER EPISODE FOR B-ROLL ONLY. This allocation sits within an approximately A$300 total budget for editing plus B-roll. Please quote per episode, not per minute. The previous higher-budget listing was a posting error and has been closed.
I am seeking an exceptional B-ROLL SPECIALIST for an ongoing Christian theology, biblical prophecy, history and current-events YouTube series. Spectacular visual storytelling is your core craft. Please apply only if your portfolio demonstrates that level of work.
THE ASSIGNMENT
We supply an already-edited talking-head video, usually about 20 minutes long. You study the spoken content, propose the visual treatment, and create/source approximately FIVE MINUTES of outstanding, precisely relevant B-roll for that episode. Individual sequences will generally last 10-60 seconds and may contain several shots. Quote for one episode's B-roll package; the exact shot list is agreed before production.
This is a dedicated B-roll/visuals role. The main edit, retakes, dialogue cleanup and presenter cuts are handled separately. Your deliverables must be ready for our editor to insert at the agreed timestamps.
THE STANDARD
- Premium documentary/cinematic quality: beautiful composition, convincing lighting, purposeful camera movement, consistent colour and polished finishing.
- Every visual must explain or strengthen the specific spoken point. No generic filler, repetitive stock montages or a slideshow of still images with basic zooms.
- Strong ability with meaningful animated maps, timelines, geographical comparisons, historical overviews and clear explanatory graphics. Accuracy and comprehension matter as much as spectacle.
- Real/licensed footage, archival material, bespoke motion design, 3D or photoreal AI may be used where appropriate. AI is welcome only when the finished result is excellent: no obvious artifacts, distorted objects, fake-looking scenes or irrelevant imagery. Upscaling alone does not solve weak visuals.
- Keep real events/footage distinguishable from illustrative reconstructions. Check places, dates, labels and historical details; flag ambiguity before inventing an answer. Preserve the teaching and supplied interpretation.
HOW WE WILL WORK
1. Review the supplied edited video and propose a concise timestamped shot list: what we see, what it explains, duration and production method.
2. Agree style frames/storyboard and the price before final production. Use inexpensive previews so we can approve the creative direction without wasting generation or production costs.
3. Produce the approved sequences and supply a review version in context with the existing narration, plus separate clean clips for our editor. Do not change the narration or timing.
4. Deliver polished 16:9 files matching the edit's frame rate, minimum 1080p, with 4K preferred where the source supports it. Include timecodes, source/licensing notes, and details of editable project files and any dependencies. If Scripture appears in a visual, use supplied/approved NKJV wording.
PAID SAMPLE / PRICING
Please quote separately for ONE representative 10-20 second B-roll sequence so we can assess quality before commissioning a complete package. State exactly what the sample includes. No unpaid custom test is requested. Any sample, award and funding will be agreed separately.
For the full episode, quote within the A$100-150 AUD target for approximately five minutes of B-roll. State your approach, turnaround and included revision rounds, and include all required footage/assets, commercial-use licences, AI/render costs and finishing in the quote. Disclose any exclusions before award. Use an efficient mix of excellent licensed footage, carefully made realistic visuals and reusable map/timeline designs. Quality remains the deciding factor. If you cannot deliver the stated scope and quality within this allocation, say so clearly; do not silently reduce the scope or assume extra spending. Please avoid placeholder bids followed by unexplained increases.
There is potential for 30-50 videos over the coming months for the right specialist, subject to quality and agreement on each commission.
TO APPLY
Send THREE directly relevant portfolio links, with timestamps and your exact contribution to each. Include cinematic/realistic B-roll and a strong map, timeline or explanatory sequence. State who will personally create our visuals, your proposed workflow, availability, sample price and full-episode price. We have no reference video to copy: show us the strongest visual approach you can bring to this brief.
If B-roll creation and visual storytelling are not your specialty, this project is not the right fit. Outstanding quality is the deciding factor.
