I’m ready to stand up a fully operational cloud environment that spans both Azure and GCP. Your task is to architect the networking from the ground up—VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and security groups—so it aligns with industry benchmarks for security and scalability. Once the foundation is in place, you’ll provision the compute layer using a mix of virtual machines and containerised workloads, then attach the right storage tiers for performance and cost efficiency.
Everything must be expressed as code. If Terraform or a comparable IaC framework is your weapon of choice, that’s perfect; the key is that the stack can be recreated, audited, and version-controlled with ease. A lightweight CI/CD flow should accompany the infrastructure so updates can roll out automatically to each cloud, whether by pipeline scripts, Docker-based images, or another streamlined method you recommend.
I value clear, concise documentation as much as the running environment. I’ll need a network and architecture diagram, a walkthrough of standard operating procedures, and deployment notes that let any new engineer pick up where you leave off.
Deliverables
• A tested, secure Azure + GCP environment in my subscriptions
• All infrastructure configuration code and automation scripts in a Git-friendly repo
• Final documentation pack (diagram, SOPs, deployment guide)
Acceptance criteria
1. Both clouds pass a basic CIS benchmark scan with zero critical findings.
2. “terraform destroy” (or equivalent) tears everything down cleanly, and “apply” recreates it identically.
3. Sample workload on VMs and containers deploys end-to-end via the provided pipeline.
You’ll be most successful if you have 3+ years of cloud administration, a solid Linux background, and ideally a certification such as Azure Administrator Associate or the GCP Cloud Architect credential.
