I need a hands-off workflow that turns a folder of CSV files into polished spec sheets directly inside Adobe InDesign. Each sheet must pull the product’s text descriptions, images, and technical diagrams from the CSV and its referenced asset paths, flow them into a clean, brand-aligned layout, and then export to PDF—all at the click of a button.

Because I don’t yet have a master template, the first step will be to design one that matches our existing brand guidelines (fonts, colour palette, logo placement). Once the template is approved, I’ll need a reliable automation solution: an ExtendScript, UXP plugin, Data Merge setup, or any other approach you’re comfortable with that runs inside the latest Creative Cloud release and supports batch generation.

Deliverables
• Custom InDesign template (.indt) with placeholders for text, image frames, and diagram call-outs
• Automation script or plugin, fully commented, that:
– Reads our CSV structure
– Places images/diagrams at the correct size and position
– Populates all text fields, including variable-length feature lists
– Handles pagination for multi-page specs when needed
• Simple setup guide so my team can run the process without you

Accuracy and robustness are crucial; the final PDFs must match the template perfectly and report any missing assets instead of silently skipping them. If you’ve built similar data-driven InDesign solutions before, I’d love to see an example when you reply.
