Automated Excel Timesheet & Payroll

I want a single Excel workbook that lets me keep daily time records and instantly turn them into clean, ready-to-run payroll figures. The file must serve two core functions: track hours worked and calculate the resulting pay in one place.
Key elements I need built in:
• A simple employee database sheet where I can add or import staff details (name, ID, pay rate, employment status and any other fields you feel are useful).
• A payroll summary report that pulls from the timesheets and shows gross pay, taxes/deductions placeholders and net pay for each employee, plus a totals row for the entire pay period.
Data will come in two ways. Team leads may type hours directly into the daily timesheet, but we also receive CSV exports from our time-clock system, so the workbook should accept an import (Power Query, macro button or another method you prefer) and map the incoming columns automatically.
Although automatic overtime calculation wasn’t checked as mandatory, please structure the formulas so that adding overtime rules later will be straightforward rather than a rewrite.
I’ll consider the project complete when:
1. All required sheets are clearly labeled, locked where appropriate and work without error.
2. Manual entry and at least one sample import both cascade through to an accurate payroll summary.
3. The file runs smoothly in current Microsoft 365 Excel without external add-ins.
If you have questions on preferred layout or naming conventions, just let me know.
