a portfolio of solar, wind and hybrid assets across nine states in India and at international rooftop locations. Every month the team prepares a
management information report that compares the generation and revenue actually achieved against the Annual Operating Plan, which is the approved budget for the
financial year. This report is circulated to senior management and forms the basis of the monthly performance review.
At present the report is prepared manually in Excel. The Annual Operating Plan is held in one workbook containing the approved budget for every project and special
purpose vehicle, with a month wise breakdown of generation, tariff and revenue across the financial year. Actual figures and asset master details are received separately,
and the reporting workbook is assembled each month by copying values between files and linking cells by hand.
Clean Max has asked atQor to automate the preparation of this report so that the monthly output is produced consistently, is easier to verify and is presentable to
management without rework. The first module covers the Annual Operating Plan, which is the budget baseline against which all actual performance is measured.
Current Challenges
• The monthly report is assembled manually by copying values between Excel files and linking cells, which is time consuming and difficult to
verify.
• Monthly budget values are retrieved through manual cell links, and a single broken or incorrect link changes the reported figures without
being noticed.
• The Annual Operating Plan workbook holds seven repeating month wise blocks with duplicated column headings, which makes the file
difficult to read and to work with reliably.
• Project and special purpose vehicle names are recorded inconsistently across files, including differences in spelling, legal suffix, letter case
and trailing spaces, which prevents values from being matched reliably between files.
• Certain rows carry no special purpose vehicle value or a placeholder value, so those rows cannot be attributed to an entity in any
consolidated view.
• The reporting workbook contains around one hundred and ten columns with three stacked heading rows, which cannot be read on screen
without extensive horizontal scrolling.
• Sub total rows are interleaved with data rows in the reporting workbook and are not identified by any flag, which makes the file difficult to
process consistently.
• The preparation of the report depends on individual knowledge of how the workbook was built, and is difficult to hand over.
• There is no single controlled location where the approved budget for the financial year is held and referenced by all stakeholders.

Monthly report assembled by copying values and linking cells
manually.
The report is produced by the system from an uploaded Excel file, without manual
copying or cell linking.
Monthly budget values retrieved through manual cell links
that can break.
The budget is uploaded once for the financial year and held centrally, so every
view refers to the same figures.
Annual Operating Plan workbook difficult to read due to
repeating blocks and duplicated headings.
The system reads the file as it is and presents the values in a structured, readable
form. The client is not required to change the source file.
Project and entity names recorded inconsistently across files.
An SPV Code carried in the Excel template is used for matching, and any
inconsistency is reported for correction
