I’m looking for a reliable, efficient and commercially minded ASP.NET Core / Razor developer for a potential long-term working relationship.
I work directly with small businesses and identify opportunities for custom internal software solutions.
My role is to find the clients, understand their problems, communicate with them, define the requirements, structure the solution and prepare clear acceptance criteria.
I’m looking for a developer whose main responsibility is the technical execution.
In other words, my goal is that once a project reaches you, you should already have a clear scope, requirements and expected result so you can focus on building the software rather than dealing with sales or unclear client requests.
Important working model
I strongly prefer fixed-price projects, not open-ended hourly billing.
For each future project, the expected workflow is:
I find and communicate with the client.
I understand the business problem.
I define the requirements and acceptance criteria.
I send you the technical project scope.
You review it and provide a fixed-price estimate and delivery time.
We agree on scope, price and milestones.
You develop, test and deliver the solution.
I handle final functional review and communication with the client.
You would normally not need to find clients, sell the project, negotiate with the client or manage client communication.
Your job is to focus on technical delivery.
What I’m looking for
I’m particularly interested in developers who are:
Strong in ASP.NET Core / Razor / EF Core
Efficient and pragmatic
Comfortable working with existing codebases
Good at debugging and testing their own work
Able to estimate projects realistically
Competitive and sensible with fixed-price estimates
Interested in recurring long-term work
Comfortable communicating clearly
Able to work independently once requirements are defined
Interested in building a relationship where more projects can mean more consistent income over time
Long-term opportunity
I’m not looking for someone who only wants to complete one small task and disappear.
My goal is to build a relationship with one primary developer who can work with me across multiple SME projects.
If the relationship works well, I intend to continue finding clients and bringing new projects regularly.
The ideal developer is someone who wants to earn well through consistent technical work, without having to spend their own time searching for clients, selling, negotiating or repeatedly explaining technical concepts to non-technical business owners.
As we work together, I also want the developer to become familiar with my preferred architecture, standards and reusable components.
This should make future projects faster and easier for both of us instead of starting every application completely from scratch.
Initial technical assessment
Before choosing a long-term developer, I plan to use a very small technical assessment.
The assessment will be a simple ASP.NET Core / Razor application containing:
Client management
Vehicle management
Each vehicle belongs to one client
Create, edit and delete functionality
Basic validation
Database persistence using EF Core
Simple and responsive UI
Clean and maintainable code
The purpose of this assessment is only to evaluate:
Technical ability
Development speed
Code quality
Ability to follow requirements
Testing discipline
Communication
It is not a commercial product, will not be delivered to a client and will not be resold or used for profit.
The assessment should remain intentionally small and simple.
Typical future projects
Projects may include:
CRM systems
Client and vehicle management
Quotations
Work orders
Inventory
Appointments
Dashboards
Internal management systems
Business process automation
These will generally be practical internal tools for small businesses rather than huge enterprise applications.
When applying, please answer
How many years of C# / ASP.NET Core experience do you have?
Are you comfortable working mainly on fixed-price projects?
What would you approximately charge for the small Client + Vehicle technical assessment described above?
Approximately how long would you need to complete it?
What would your approximate fixed price be for a small production application containing:
Clients
Vehicles
Appointments
4 employees
Date/time
Estimated appointment duration
Client/vehicle/employee relationships
Basic validation
Responsive UI
Database persistence
Please provide one relevant ASP.NET Core project or example of similar work.
Are you interested in a long-term arrangement where I handle client acquisition, requirements and client communication while you focus primarily on development, technical QA and delivery?
I care more about quality, efficiency, reliability, practical thinking and sensible pricing than agency size, certificates or impressive sales presentations.
