I have just finished translating a comprehensive Arabic book on depression—thirty-four years in the making—into a polished PDF. Now I need the content professionally refined so it can live comfortably both as an eBook and as a print-ready edition while remaining faithful to the original text and layout.
The priorities are clear:
• Proofread every line for grammatical and punctuation errors.
• Edit for flow, clarity and overall readability without altering the author’s intent or voice.
• Re-format the manuscript so it converts cleanly to print-ready PDF and to reflowable eBook files (EPUB and MOBI/KPF). Adjustable text size and style must work flawlessly in common readers such as Kindle, Apple Books and Kobo.
A few additional notes:
– The cover was completed four months ago, so no new artwork is required.
– I will share an initial batch of roughly 15 pages; once that sample meets the standard, the full manuscript will follow.
– My Arabic-speaking colleagues will run a final cultural and linguistic pass, so your files must be easy to annotate and update.
– The entire project—including final, press-quality files—has to be wrapped up within one month.
Deliverables
1. Proofread and edited manuscript in Word (tracked changes) and clean copy.
2. Print-ready PDF mirroring the original layout and pagination.
3. Reflowable EPUB and MOBI/KPF files with functioning table of contents, adjustable fonts and validated metadata.
4. A brief hand-off report summarising any style decisions, fonts used and embedded stylesheets.
Acceptance criteria: zero critical errors on a final QA pass, EPUBCheck validation with no warnings, and a PDF that meets standard POD trim and bleed guidelines.
If you have a meticulous eye, solid experience with Arabic-English texts, and can move quickly without sacrificing quality, I’d love to see what you can do with those first 15 pages and then carry the project through to completion.
