I’m building a new social-networking experience focused on fast, reliable messaging for Android. The scope is a native Android app where users can register, find friends, and chat one-to-one or in groups with text, emojis, and read receipts.

Core deliverables
• An Android Studio project written in Kotlin (Java is acceptable if you strongly prefer)
• Clean, modular architecture (MVVM or similar) with clear documentation
• Firebase, Supabase, or another real-time backend wired up for authentication and message sync
• Basic material-design UI: login/signup, contact list, chat screen, settings
• APK and source code ready for submission to Google Play, plus a brief hand-over guide

While the first milestone covers messaging only, I’d like the codebase to be extensible so we can easily add photo/video sharing and richer user profiles in later phases.

Acceptance criteria
• App installs and launches without crashes on Android 11–14 devices
• Users can create an account, log in, add contacts, and exchange real-time messages
• All major flows pass instrumented tests and at least 80 % unit test coverage
• Play Console pre-launch report flags no critical issues

Please include links to one or two Android social or chat apps you’ve shipped and note which backend stack you’d use. I’m aiming to start within a week and keep iteration cycles short, so clear communication and well-commented code are important.
