I have an entertainment video of just under 30 minutes that already carries English subtitles. I need those subtitles rendered into Amharic—making sure every joke, cultural reference, and on-screen nuance lands perfectly—then delivered back to me as a fully timed, UTF-8 .srt file.
Because the target audience speaks specific dialects of Amharic, I expect the wording to feel native to them, not merely “standard” Amharic. Timing, line breaks, and reading speed should follow common broadcast guidelines (no more than 42 characters a line, two lines max, 17 CPS or below). Please keep all existing timecodes intact unless an adjustment is required for natural reading flow; if you shift a cue, maintain synchronization across the file.
You may use Subtitle Edit, Aegisub, or any professional subtitling tool you prefer, but the final output must:
• be formatted as .srt in UTF-8
• match the original cue count unless justified changes are noted
• pass a spell-check and visual QC on my side without further edits
Once you send the completed file, I’ll review it in VLC and our internal platform. If everything lines up and reads naturally in the specified dialect, the milestone is complete.
