We are looking for an experienced Data Acquisition Specialist or Codebase Broker to source high-quality, production-grade private codebases at scale for AI training data pipelines.
This role focuses on identifying, vetting, and securing non-exclusive sub-licensing rights for real-world software repositories across modern tech stacks (e.g., Python, Rust, C++, TypeScript, Go, Java).
Key Responsibilities
Large-Scale Repository Sourcing: Identify and onboard developers, indie hackers, or engineering teams willing to license non-exclusive rights to their production-grade codebases.
Rights & Provenance Verification: Verify that all codebases have 100% clean IP rights, authentic Git commit histories, and proper authorization agreements from original copyright holders.
Sample Submission & Vetting: Prepare and submit anonymized sample repositories for technical quality and compliance checks before contract commencement.
Pipeline Delivery: Deliver structured, secret-scrubbed repository batches (including tests, documentation, and commit logs) meeting strict AI training data quality standards.
Mandatory Pre-Hire Condition
Non-Negotiable Requirement: Final contract execution and full project kickoff are contingent upon sample review. Candidates must provide access to 2–3 sample codebases (or sample inspection packages) during the proposal evaluation stage to verify code quality, commit depth, test coverage, and rights clearance. No milestone funds will be released without prior review and approval of initial sample datasets.
Candidate Qualifications
Proven track record in technical data sourcing, code brokerage, or IP sub-licensing for machine learning / AI model training.
Deep understanding of Git history, IP clearance, software licensing frameworks, and PII/secret scrubbing procedures.
Established network or automated pipeline to reach developers, startup founders, or code owners at scale.
Experience delivering codebases with complete test suites, low technical debt, and runnable build configurations. dont dm without samples
