I’m building a side-scrolling video game and need a single hero character drawn in a crisp 16-bit-era style. Think Super NES/Genesis fidelity—clean silhouettes, limited yet expressive palettes, and that unmistakable retro charm, only polished enough to sit comfortably on modern screens.
Here’s what I’m after:
• A fully-posed, side-facing sprite sheet that covers the core movement cycle (idle, run, jump, attack, hurt, and death).
• Consistent frame size so the animations slot straight into my existing Unity 2D setup.
• PNGs with transparent backgrounds plus the assembled GIFs or MP4 previews, so I can check timing at a glance.
• A simple colour key and any notes on shade counts you used, in case I need palette swaps later.
I’ll review the work inside the engine; as long as every animation plays smoothly at 12–16 fps and the outline reads clearly against dark and light backdrops, the milestone is good to go. Source files (Aseprite or PSD) are appreciated for future tweakability but not mandatory if you prefer exporting only.
If you love squeezing personality into tiny grids of pixels, let’s talk—share one or two links to similar side-scroller sprites you’ve done and tell me how many frames you usually budget per action. Looking forward to seeing your pixels in motion!
