I’m commissioning a one-minute piece that opens with a lone hiker deep in a dense, untamed forest and ends as he steps onto a sun-drenched peak overlooking a sweeping vista. Throughout the walk-and-climb sequence the hiker is speaking into his handheld phone occasionally as he hikes. The final lines are delivered as he reaches the sunbeams at the summit and delivers the following spoken lines, word-perfect and clearly audible over subtle natural ambience:
“What is truth? People have wrestled with this question throughout history. Jesus said, ‘You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.’ The ultimate source of all truth is God, good, the everlasting creator and source of all wisdom and understanding.
