My experience

At last I decided to post some of my jobs I’ve done. For a long time I thought it is not too important, anyway when I am asked for what I’ve done, I cannot say anything, just something like “I have completed hundred of jobs”. Not too informative, right? And to be fair, I cannot remember all the jobs I’ve done when asked suddenly.

So I decided to write all the jobs I remember into this portfolio. Of course, there are jobs that I do not remember; anyway list of jobs I’ve completed is quote big as well.

Currently I work mostly on my own projects; I have several of them in my mind. Anyway I gladly work with my old webmasters.

My final goal is migrate to UK completely. Even if I do not have any visa or work permit problems, as I am from EU, I want to begin working in UK as programmer or system administrator. Preferred location is London. I visit this city quite frequently. Also… you can evaluate my English knowledge, as it is not my native language. All this text was written on the fly. My native language is Lithuanian, also I know Russian very well. For me there is no difference between those languages. When I have some free time, I learn Spanish. Already have some knowledge. And recently decided to learn Chinese (Mandarin). I don’t say I will learn to speak perfectly, but I want to know at least some hieroglyphs, ant their pronunciation. Now I think it’s time to return to my portfolio,

So, let’s begin. Newest jobs are on the top.

“Transfer website to new host”. Urgent project. Moved site to another host, fixed Perl problems on the new host.

“Php Auction Problem”. Fixed lots of freeware auction software bugs and problems.

“Small modification in upload script”. I have added a multi-files upload feature into this script. Written in PHP as I remember.

“Alpha Mail Help”. In general I implemented multi-forms feature into Alpha Mail, as I remember. Written in Perl.

“www board” – Perl www board installation. This project was reposted, because of the failed previous installations made by other programmers.

“PHP – Dating Site Modifications”. Project requirements were: modify member search options and the way the search results are shown, modify members homepages; added rotating member photos, add member email system, improve the top 10 members feature. In the administration area add feature enabling email all users. All this was done. Also made some graphics improvements.

“PHP Programmer needed”. To be fair, I do not remember what I did, just remember it was some PHP/Javascript jobs/consultation.

“Install of awstats”. Customer had a dedicated server without any stats. Someone did previous installation, but unsuccessful. Also created Perl script to add new domain to awstats.

“General apache on linux admin”. Installed some software, do not remember exactly which. Provided consulting about Apache, php and mysql.

“Perl Bill installation”. My job was to install Perl Bill software, install missing modules etc. Done.

“CGI Script Error”. The project was newsletter manager fixing. Written in Perl. It was fixed.

“CGI Help” was the next project I got. Problems I met were premature script headers, missing Perl modules, internal server error. Fixed.

“Script configuration/installation”. The dating script was bought some site and had lots of problems. As far as the sellers did not provide any support, I was hired to do the entire job.  Script was based on PHP/MySQL. All the problems were resolved.

It is only a small part of jobs. I will add  much more soon :D Hate to say such phrases…
